"Ornis" - Verein für Vogelkunde und Vogelschutz Annaberg e.V.

    Condensed Travel Report:

From May 27 to June 02, 1996 - eleven members of "Ornis"-Verein had an ornithological trip to Russia (into the region of the former East Prussia). The trip went to Kaliningrad (the former Koenigsberg), the Curonian Spit and the Biological Station Rybatschy (the former Banding Station Rossitten). Moreover we visited Rauschen, Cranz and Cafe Ehrlich at Gilge.

People who intend to visit Russia need a visa and an invitation. It is also possible to spend some weeks on the Biological Station at Rybatschy and support their scientific work during migration time. A minimum stay of about 2 weeks is recommended but more is even better. The people on the Biological Station do help you managing the formalities and you can get the invitation from them. Usually English and German are spoken there.

If you are interested in such a trip you can get in contact as follows:
